Chewy Chocolate Chips Cookies

I always wanted to bake a cookie that tastes like Subway's cookies. Chewy in the middle and crunchy at the outside. I made it before with my old oven, it didn't come out as i expected. Then i gave up on making this kind of cookies.  Finally, after two years i bought a new oven and thinking to try this out again to see whether it successful or not.

Ingredients:

55g unsalted butter
50g granulated sugar
40g molasses sugar
1/2 egg
1tsp vanilla extract
95g all-purpose flour
1/2tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 cup chocolate chips
Steps:
  1. Combined butter + sugar, mix well.
  2. Add in egg+ vanilla extract, mix well.
  3. Fold in flour+baking soda combined well.
  4. Then add in chocolate chips and incorporate well.
  5. Scoop the dough on baking sheet, placing 1 inch apart.
  6. Preheated oven 180'C, baked for 15 mins.
  7. Once done baking, let it cool on the baking sheet then transfer to the wire rack and cool completely.

The cookies are so puffs up because of the baking soda ( I think). I didn't cut half of the amount baking soda, so it doesn't to look like cookies. However, it still tastes good. Crunchy outside, chewy in the middle. There is one thing i don't like about it is the sugary taste. It tasted too sweet. Maybe will cut down the amount of sugar for the next baking. Not sure will it affect the cookies but still will try to experiment. Overall, 8/10.

The above pictures didn't flatten out because i was tried to add more flour in it and put into the freezer in waiting for the first batch of baking. It was not that bad actually, it tastes in the middle of chewy and cakey like cookies.

P.S: the above recipe has been modified and cut down in half. It just my experiment purpose.
